Set to be held in June 2014, the FIT (Fabricators Installer Trade) Show is guaranteed to be the greatest event of the year for any companies that run within the fabrication and installation arena, thanks to its amazing set-up and connections.

Any companies that work within this industry already are likely to already know of the trade shows name, as it is big business within the sector. The fabricator installer trade show is dedicated to the UK glass and glazing industry, and is the only trade show of its kind, so you can trust that you won’t find one similar anywhere else.

There’s nothing better than getting the chance to network and meet influential people within your sector, who can act as potential leads and referrers in the future. Not only this, but if you work in this sector it can be great to get to meet people that you can get along with based on your similar work environments, and, of course, it also acts as an excellent sales opportunity for countless companies.

What is FIT Show 2014?

The first ever FIT Show took place in 2013, and it proved to be such a success that the organisers and sponsors decided to hold it again this year. There’s sure to be a whole host of events and activities taking place at the trade show, which will be held on 1oth – 12th June 2014, with all of the best window, door and conservatory fabricators, installers and specifiers attending.

The main aim of the FIT Show 2014 is networking, as it’s very important that businesses within this sector make connections with one another so as to do the best business possible. By connecting with another company, an important business relationship could be forged, so you could pass each other business further down the line, or even decide to work together at some point.

What was the outcome of the FIT Show 2013?

Despite the fact that 2013 was the first ever year that the FIT Show was held, it was hugely successful. A whopping 6,000 visitors lined up to visit the trade show, and there were almost 170 companies that signed up to exhibit at the event.

All of this was possible thanks to the excellent activities that the organisers decided to showcase, which helped to get people excited about the trade show.

Some of the highlights included:

FIT Theatre

The show’s FIT Theatre was a very special event that promised to teach visitors how to convert up to 60 per cent of their leads through the application of Paul Clifton’s expert knowledge. The sales guru taught visitors how to make the most of leads, and imparted some incredibly helpful advice.

Some very big names turned up to the FIT Theatre, with Google’s Industry Manager Finlay Clark showing his face to talk to visitors about the importance of online marketing in the sector.

Master Fitter Challenge

This quirkily named event was produced in association with FENSA and featured six of the UK’s most prestigious firms. Each went head-to-head in a classic competition, where they had to carry out window, door and conservatory roof installation tasks. The tasks were held at a pavilion that had been specially created for the event, and the winner was gifted a sum of £5,000.

Arron Clegg of Eco-Sash won out in the end, with Scott Higgs of Polar Windows coming in as a runner up and winning £3,000. Nigel Grant of Nigel Grant UPVC took home £2,000 for his spot in third place.

Sales Professional of the Year

This competition was open to all visitors from the sales field that decided to attend the trade show, so they could get the chance to win themselves – and their company – some money. The prize up for grabs was £5,000 for the winner, plus an additional £5,000 for the employer of the winner.

Adrian Phillips of Nolan UPVC was the overall winner, while Ed Burgess of Countryside Home Improvements and Nick Trigg of Mid Wales Windows came in as runner up. In order to win, the three had to sell new windows to an acting couple on camera, and then the footage was then assessed to choose the winner.

Without a doubt the biggest draw of the trade show were the seminars that were held there. Each speaker at each seminar was hand picked to ensure they offered up the best advice and information, with countless hints and tips being passed across. The attending companies picked up numerous recommendations for ways they could improve their own businesses, and they went away from the seminars with a new outlook on the industry.

Many of the seminars were so popular that people had to stand, and numerous topics were covered. They were incredibly wide ranging, going from email marketing all the way to the benefits of aluminium in building.

Where will the FIT Show 2014 be held?

2014’s FIT Show is going to be hosted at the International Centre Telford, which was also the venue for the show in 2013. The centre enjoys an excellent location, which makes it easy to travel and there is ample parking close to the venue that will easily accommodate all that are bound to attend.

Free wifi will be available for all visitors to use, thanks to the venue’s excellent facilities, and there are four exhibition halls, many boardrooms, meeting rooms, banquet suites and seminar halls that the FIT Show 2014 will be making use of.

Being just 15 minutes from the M6, and less than five minutes from the M54, the International Centre Telford really couldn’t be any better placed. All sorts of exciting events and activities have been planned for the FIT Show 2014, so those attending certainly won’t be disappointed. There will be a number of new activities, as well as some returning ones, so if attendees had a favourite event from the previous trade show, they may just get to revisit it this year!

For 2014, the FIT Show will be re-hosting many excellent seminars, with an emphasis of business success. The seminars will cover a whole host of topics that will provide attendees with genuine food for thought, so they can return home with a checklist of jobs to do and changes to make in order to see the greatest of success within their company.

Not only this, but a special gala dinner will also be hosted at the FIT Show 2014, as it was at the 2013 trade show. Over 800 people from the industry are set to attend, making it the networking event you simply cannot afford to miss, and guests will find out about the winners for the Sales Professional of the Year and Master Fitter Challenges at the same time.

As mentioned, the Master Fitter Challenge and Sales Professional of the Year awards will also be returning, with Quotatis helping to organise the latter. Both will give companies throughout the industry to shine at the trade show, so they can find the recognition they deserve! Not only this, but winning one of these awards would make for amazing PR for all companies attending, and so they could leave with some excellent news for their customers and prospective clients alike.

The FIT Show 2014 is the ultimate trade show event for the windows, conservatories and doors industry. Any companies within this sector that want to attend just one trade show this year should make the FIT Show the one they choose, as it’s guaranteed to be absolutely jam-packed with everything companies need to know.

Conwy Valley will be keeping a very close eye on the goings-on with this event in the coming weeks, as we can’t wait to find out more about it.
